Origen:
Arbequina Olive was originated in Arbeca, Spain.
Fruiting:
Arbequina Olive is an Early Fruiting variety which starts fruiting in the 3rd year of the plantation. Fruiting increases gradually and it reaches to commercial fruit production by the 5th year.
Size/Canopy:
Arbequina is an average height tree (10 feet to 15feet), and its maximum height cannot grow more than 20 feet.
Pollination:
It is self-pollinated variety of olive which require no other varieties for high fruit production
Fruit:
It produces small fruits which turn black when ripen.

Yield:
Arbequina Olive produces average Fruit Yield of 23kg per plant.
Oil Content: It has high oil content of 19.34%.
Soil:
Light (sandy) loamy and heavy (clay) soils are acceptable. Olives grow well in well drained soils so it performs well in even Nutrient poor, rocky soils.

Arbequina Olive grows well in both high density and normal distancing. So it can be planted 200 to 350 plants per acre.
High Density:
It can be planted at super high density 4x12 feet OR 5x13 feet.
Precautions:
Although it is highly adaptable plant and builds resistance to drought, whether and diseases but small plants require shelter from winter.
Watering:
Arbequina Olive is drought and weather resistant plant. In the beginning seasons it requires more frequent watering to develop plant stature, roots and canopy but once properly established reduce the watering.
