Ascolana is requires another variety for pollination. It produces good yield if planted with BARI Zaitoon-I, Leccino, or Pendolino cultivars. Olives are wind pollinated and these should not be planted more than 20 feet apart.

Ascolana Olives are large sized olives that weigh up to 8 to 10 grams. Its fruits are of pale green color with white flesh used both as table fruit and oil extraction procedure. Ascolana Fruits starts to bloom in May and ripened by the month of December.
